Tuition for California residents attending Folsom Lake College did not change for the 2022-23 school year, as indicated by the most recent figures, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

California residents paid $1,288 to attend the two-year public college in both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years.

Non-resident students faced tuition costs 736% higher than those for residents in 2022-23, amounting to $10,768. This represented a 5.9% increase from the $10,168 charged in 2021-22.

Approximately 98% of the undergraduate student body at Folsom Lake College are California residents.

Data reveals that 74% of full-time undergraduates who began studies at Folsom Lake College in 2022-23 received some form of financial aid. A total of 518 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $2.4 million, while six students borrowed more than $30,288 in student loans.

Across all undergraduates, 4,688 students benefited from grants or scholarships totaling $13.2 million. Additionally, 169 students took out federal student loans totaling $1.2 million.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
