How did home valuation prices perform in Sacramento County in March 2025, compared to March 2024?

In March, the median sale price of a home in Sacramento County remained unchanged from the same period in the previous year, while total sales decreased by 43.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

There were 596 homes sold in March, with a median sale price of $495,000 — remained unchanged from the median sale price during the same period of the previous year. In comparison, 1,048 homes were sold in Sacramento County in March 2024.

Based on the latest available data from 2021, the median sales tax in Sacramento County was $3,544, which stands at 0.7% of March's median home sale price.

The U.S. housing market has surged in recent years, with its total value approaching $50 trillion in 2024—nearly five times its value in 2000.

“The value of America’s housing market will likely cross the $50 trillion threshold in the next 12 months as there are not enough homes being listed to push prices down,” said Redfin Economics Research Lead Chen Zhao.
